Volgo – Vyatsky branch of the NCCA (The National Centre of Contemporary Art) was established in 1997. Today it is only in Nizhny Novgorod Museum and exhibition organization,which dedicated to the development of contemporary art in the broader context of contemporary culture. There are exhibitions, lectures, concerts, programmes for children and pensioners, musical and theatrical experiments, discussions, and etc.
Since the establishment of the national centre of contemporary art, the priority of its activities were to support and develop contemporary art in the Russian regions. The branches of the NCCA (The National Centre of Contemporary Art) also work in St. Petersburg (Northwestern), Vladikavkaz (North – Caucasus), Ekaterinburg (Ural), Kaliningrad (Baltic), Samara (Srednevolzhskiy), Tomsk (Siberian).
