Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum presents an exhibition of Natella Toidze Painting. Graphics from January 31, 2015 – February 23, 2015.
For the first time in Nizhny Novgorod opens an exhibition of full member of the Russian Academy of Arts Natella Toidze.
Natella Toidze – is one of the famous, sought-after artists today, having her own viewers and fans, not only in the capital's cultural circles. In the last few years, her large, retrospective exhibitions were successfully held in St. Petersburg, Vologda, and Saransk. After the exhibition in Nizhny Novgorod is planned next show in Voronezh.
Works of Natella Toidze distinguished by individual, formed author's handwriting, high picturesque culture, which incorporates the traditions of Russian and Georgian art schools. Natella G. was born and raised in Moscow. She is a member of the famous artistic dynasty in the third generation. The founder of the dynasty was her grandfather – a painter Mose Toidze – People's Artist of the USSR, one of the founders of the USSR Academy of Arts, Professor of the Tbilisi Academy of Arts. His children also devoted theirself to creativity, two sons became painters. Their names entered into the history of Soviet art: poster artist Irakli Toidze; sculptor and graphic artist George Toidze, Natella's father, whom she calls her first and most important teacher.
Exhibition in NNSAM includes about 70 works of Natella, from the collection of author, Russian Academy of Arts and private collections. Two paintings that are in the Tretyakov Gallery are presented by the author's version. The exhibition includes her early works, created in the 1970s, and, written recently as a few months ago. The exhibition includes all genres, in which the artist works – landscape, still life, allegorical paintings. Lately Toidze more often chooses large format of canvases, close-ups, expanding beyond her sight, staring into the environment and raising it above the ordinary.
